If you have completed a defensive driving course, you may be able to save on your auto insurance premiums when buying a new or used car either by financing, leasing or through bank car loan.

Along the roadway, there are regulatory, warning and guide signs. You will be asked to identify roadway signs on the Illinois Permit Test.

Preparing for Your Illinois DMV Test

In Illinois, you can get your learner’s permit when you are fifteen years old. For many, this is an exciting yet terrifying experience. At fifteen, you are in the throws of high school. You’ve likely stopped growing. You are only three years from being able to vote and from going to college. You may feel old, but fifteen is actually quite young.

You’ve ridden in copious vehicles, but simply riding in a car will not adequately prepare you for driving one. Still, it is easy to feel like you are ready when you’re not. Driving is a responsibility often taken for granted, even by experienced drivers. Before you try to get your learner’s permit, it is vital to ensure that you are prepared for it.

When you go to the DMV, you’ll need your legal guardian to go with you. You’ll need to pass the written test, as well as a vision test, and you will need to enroll in an approved driver’s education course. Once you pass these tests, you will get your learner’s permit and be allowed to drive while supervised by a driver who is at least twenty-one years old. Your permit will be valid for two years, but you can take your road test after nine months, as long as you have driven fifty hours and are at least sixteen years old.

Remember that the ability to turn a car key in the ignition is not all it takes to drive a car. It is important to know the road signs by heart, to study the laws of your state and to practice the laws so that they become second nature.

We know all of this sounds a little overwhelming, but rest assured that you can do this and you can do it well! To aid in the passing of your written test, we have put together eight different practice tests in English and in Spanish. All of these are free of charge and include everything you will be tested on at the DMV. All you have to do is contact us to find your Illinois DMV practice test.
